VRM Posing Desktop is a paid Steam app and it does more: props, scenes, several characters at once, camera paths. This poser is the browser version of the part most people come for — one avatar, one pose, one picture or one .vrma — and it costs nothing and installs nothing. If you outgrow it, the pose you saved here still loads in the desktop tools that read VRMA.

What does the VRM poser do?

It loads a .vrm avatar in your browser and lets you set its pose: pick a motion-capture pose (idle, pointing, sitting, running, dance…) or a basic preset (relaxed, wave, thinking, hands on hips), then move any humanoid bone with three rotation sliders. When it looks right, download a PNG — dark, transparent or green-screen background — or save the pose itself as a .vrma file.

Is this a free alternative to VRM Posing Desktop?

For posing and screenshots, yes: it is free, runs in the browser and needs no install or Steam. VRM Posing Desktop is a paid desktop app with more around the pose — props, scenes, several characters, camera paths — and if you need those it is still the tool. If you need one avatar in one pose as a PNG or a .vrma, this does that.

Does my model get uploaded?

No. The model is parsed and rendered in your browser with WebGL and never sent to a server. You can disconnect after the page loads and keep posing.

What is a .vrma pose file and where can I use it?

VRMA (VRM Animation) is the open animation format that goes with VRM. The poser writes your pose as a one-second held clip, so anything that plays VRMA — our VRM viewer, VSeeFace via its VRMA support, VMagicMirror, three-vrm based web apps — can put the same pose on any VRM avatar, not just the one you posed.

Does it work with both VRM 0.x and VRM 1.0?

Yes. The two versions store the skeleton facing opposite ways (0.x faces −Z, 1.0 faces +Z), and the poser handles that at the model boundary: presets look the same on both, and the exported .vrma is written in VRM 1.0 space as the format requires, so it plays correctly on either.

What is the Animate tab?

A library of 12 motion-capture clips — idle, walk, catwalk, happy, bashful, samba, breakdance, backflip and more — that play on whatever VRM you loaded. Previewing a short cut of any clip (up to four seconds) is free and unlimited; the full clip downloads as a .vrma for one credit (from $2.99 for a single credit), is yours to keep in My conversions, and plays on any VRM in any VRMA-aware app.

Can I pose the fingers?

The motion-capture presets carry full hand poses — fingers included — and they travel into the exported .vrma. The sliders themselves cover the 22 body bones (spine, head, arms, hands, legs, feet); per-finger sliders are the next step if people ask for them.

I have an FBX, not a VRM — can I pose it?
