Where a .vrma plays

VRMA is VRM's own animation format: the motion is stored on the humanoid skeleton, so one clip drives every VRM avatar. Apps that read it include VMagicMirror (3.4+), VRM Posing Desktop, Unity with UniVRM, Blender with the VRM add-on, VRoid Hub and web apps built on three-vrm, like our VRM viewer. VSeeFace does not load .vrma files.

FAQ

What is a .vrma file?

VRMA (VRM Animation) is the animation format that belongs to VRM. A clip stores motion on the VRM humanoid skeleton rather than on one model's bones, so the same file plays on any VRM avatar — VRM 0.x or 1.0, made in VRoid, converted from FBX, or made here from a selfie.

Which apps can play a .vrma?

The ones on the VRM consortium's list: VMagicMirror (3.4 and later), VRM Posing Desktop, Unity through UniVRM, Blender through the VRM add-on, VRoid Hub, and web apps built on three-vrm — this page is one of them, and so is our VRM viewer. VSeeFace does not load .vrma files; animations there have to be built into a VSFAvatar in Unity.

Is it free?

Previewing is. Every clip plays on your avatar for up to 4 seconds as many times as you like, with no account. The full .vrma costs 1 credit and needs an account — and a new account starts with one free credit, so your first clip costs nothing. Once bought, a clip stays in My conversions and downloads again at no charge.

Will it work on my own avatar?

If it is a VRM with a humanoid rig, yes: drop the .vrm on the stage and every clip plays on it. The file stays in your browser; nothing is uploaded. If you have an FBX or a GLB, convert it to VRM first — the first conversion is free.

I have my own animation. Can I turn it into a .vrma?

Yes, with the FBX to VRMA converter: it takes a Mixamo FBX or a GLB animation, retargets the motion onto the VRM humanoid and writes a .vrma that plays on any VRM.

I only need a single pose, not a motion.

Use the VRM poser. It sets a pose with presets and bone sliders and saves it as a one-second .vrma, or as a PNG with a transparent background.
