AI VTuber model generator — one photo, a rigged VRM
VTubeMe's AI VTuber model generator reconstructs your face in 3D from a single photograph and hands back a rigged VRM with blendshapes — the file VSeeFace, Warudo and VNyan load directly. It works from a real photo, not from a text prompt.
What the AI actually does
- 1
You upload one photo
A front-facing photo of a real face, taken on a phone camera or picked from your gallery. Nothing else is needed — no scan, no depth camera, no turntable video.
- 2
The AI reconstructs the head in 3D
The model predicts the shape of the face and builds a textured 3D head from that single image, then fits it onto a full body. This is the part that is AI: it infers the geometry a photo does not contain.
- 3
It arrives already rigged
Skeleton, skin weights and facial blendshapes come with it, so the avatar tracks your expressions in VTubing apps instead of standing still. You do not rig anything by hand.
- 4
You style it in the editor
Hair, outfits, eye colour and skin tone are picked in the browser. The clothing you pick can also take an AI-generated texture: you describe the pattern in words and it is generated onto that garment.
- 5
You download a VRM
Free to make and to edit for as long as you like; $7.99 once, when you want the file. VSeeFace, Warudo, VNyan and VMagicMirror open the .vrm as it is; the .glb that comes with it imports into Blender, and VRChat needs the model set up and uploaded through Unity like any other avatar.
What it is not
It works from a photo of a real face. Text prompts and character drawings are not supported — said here rather than after you have tried.
This page does
- Reconstruct a face in 3D from one photograph
- Rig it, with skin weights and facial blendshapes
- Let you restyle hair, outfit and colours in the browser
- Hand back a .vrm and a .glb to download
This page does not
- Invent a character from a text prompt
- Turn fan art or a 2D drawing into a 3D model
- Produce a Live2D rig — VRM is 3D, Live2D is not
- Charge a subscription
Already have a character as a 3D model — an FBX from a commission, a Blender file, an MMD model, a Sketchfab download? Then nothing needs generating: the converter turns it into a VRM — the skeleton is mapped to the VRM humanoid and the materials are converted.
Common questions
What is an AI VTuber model generator?
A tool that builds a 3D VTuber avatar for you instead of asking you to model one. Here the input is a photograph: AI reconstructs the geometry of your face from a single image, fits it to a body, and hands back a rigged VRM — the format VTubing apps load. The alternatives are modelling one yourself in VRoid Studio or Blender, or commissioning an artist.
Can it generate a VTuber model from a text prompt?
No. There is no box here where you describe a character and get a model: the AI works from a photograph of a real face, and what you steer afterwards is hair, outfit and colours in the editor. If a character invented from a description is what you want, this is not the tool for it.
I have character art. Can the AI turn that into a model?
No. The reconstruction expects a photograph of a real face; a drawing gives it one flat view of proportions that are usually not human, so we do not offer it rather than hand back something wrong. If your character already exists as a 3D model — an FBX, a GLB, a Blender file, an MMD model — that is a different job: the converter maps its skeleton to the VRM humanoid and converts its materials.
Can I make a VRM from a photo?
Yes — that is exactly what this is. One front-facing photo goes in, a full rigged VRM avatar comes out: head reconstructed from the image, body, skeleton and facial blendshapes included. Making and editing it is free, and the file costs $7.99 once.
Is it free?
Making and editing the avatar is free, and there is no time limit on it — you can build it, sleep on it and come back. Downloading the file costs $7.99 once, and that includes re-editing and re-downloading it later at no extra cost. There is no subscription.
What file do I get, and where does it work?
A .vrm, plus a .glb of the same avatar. VSeeFace, Warudo, VNyan and VMagicMirror load the .vrm directly. For VRChat the model is set up and uploaded through Unity, as every VRChat avatar is. The .glb is the same avatar in a generic format, for Blender, Unity or a game engine.
Does the face actually look like me?
It is a reconstruction, not a photograph pasted on a head — the likeness is there, in a stylised body. A clear, front-facing photo in even light gives the best result; a heavy filter, sunglasses or a three-quarter angle give the AI less to work with and the likeness drops accordingly.
Do I need a good computer?
No. Everything runs in the browser, including the editor, and the heavy reconstruction happens on our side. A phone is enough to make one; the VTubing app you point it at afterwards is what needs the computer.
How long does it take?
Minutes: the reconstruction runs while you wait, and the rest of the time is you choosing hair and clothes. The slow part of every other route — modelling it yourself, or waiting on a commission — is not in this one.
Try it with one photo
Making and editing the avatar costs nothing — you only pay when you want the file.
