Meshy AI to VRM converter — rigged in Meshy, VTubing here

VTubeMe's Meshy to VRM converter turns a character you rigged in Meshy AI into a VRM for VSeeFace, Warudo or VNyan, its skeleton mapped automatically. You only pay for successful conversions.

Rig it in Meshy first — the plain model has no skeleton

Meshy gives you two different downloads of the same character. The plain model download — the file named …_texture_fbx.zip — is a mesh with textures and no bones, and a VRM needs bones: every one of those uploaded here has been refused with NO_ARMATURE, and the credit returned. The converter recognises that file name and says so before anything is uploaded.

The download that works comes out of Meshy's own Auto Rigging: open the model in Meshy, choose Auto Rigging (or Animate), pick Humanoid, press Rig and download the rigged character as FBX. Meshy names that file …_biped or Character_output, and rigged Meshy exports in FBX or ZIP have converted here 64 times in 65.

What you get — and what a Meshy rig does not have

The body: Meshy's humanoid skeleton covers the hips, a three-segment spine, neck and head, shoulders, arms and hands, legs, feet and toes, and every one of those becomes its VRM humanoid bone, so head, torso and arm tracking in VSeeFace, Warudo or VNyan drive the model. The textures in the export come along.

The face: Meshy's rig has no facial blendshapes, so the VRM cannot blink, lip-sync or change expression — the head turns, the face stays as generated. The hands have no finger bones either. Both are properties of the Meshy rig, not of the conversion; check the 3D preview, and if a moving face is the point, a refund is one click before you download.

Meshy bone names the converter maps

Meshy numbers its torso from the neck down — Spine02 sits on the hips, Spine under the neck — so the segments are mapped by where they are in the skeleton, not by the number in the name. Left side shown; the right side is identical.

That is 22 humanoid bones on the export we checked end to end, with nothing required missing. Materials arrive as the model's own glTF materials rather than MToon, so in apps that light a model with a single directional light the unlit side may look darker than in Meshy's viewer. The result panel shows the model in 3D before you download it.

What can go wrong with a Meshy file

A conversion that cannot finish tells you which of these it hit, and returns the credit — you are never charged for a failure.

NO_ARMATURE

The file is Meshy's plain model download — a mesh with no skeleton.

Rig it in Meshy (Auto Rigging → Humanoid → Rig), download the rigged character as FBX and upload that. The credit is returned.

UNRECOGNIZED_RIG

A skeleton exists, but not one the converter can read as a humanoid — a creature rig, or a skeleton re-saved in another tool with generic bone names.

A VRM is a humanoid format; rig the character as Humanoid in Meshy. The credit is returned.

FILE_TRUNCATED

The file stops before its own header says it does — the download was probably cut short.

Download it again from Meshy and upload the fresh copy. The credit is returned.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a Meshy AI model to VRM?

Rig it in Meshy first: open the model, choose Auto Rigging, pick Humanoid, press Rig, and download the rigged character as FBX (the file Meshy names …_biped or Character_output). Drop that file on this page; the skeleton is mapped to the VRM humanoid, you check the result in 3D, and the .vrm loads in VSeeFace, Warudo and VNyan. The first conversion is free, and a failed one refunds automatically.

Why was my Meshy model refused with NO_ARMATURE?

Because it was the plain model download, which has no skeleton — Meshy only adds bones in its Auto Rigging step. Rig the character there as Humanoid and upload the rigged FBX instead. The converter warns about the plain download's file name before uploading, so the credit is not even reserved.

Will my Meshy VRM blink and lip-sync?

No. Meshy's rig carries no facial blendshapes, so the VRM follows head and body tracking but its face stays still. Adding expressions means shape keys made in Blender; a selfie avatar made on VTubeMe comes with blink, lip sync and expressions already set up.

FBX or GLB from Meshy?

FBX. Rigged Meshy exports as FBX or ZIP have converted here 64 times in 65; GLB uploads have been fewer and failed more often.

Can I convert a four-legged Meshy creature?

Not as a working avatar — a VRM is built around a humanoid skeleton, and Meshy's Quadruped and Smart Rig skeletons are not one. The non-humanoid Meshy rigs uploaded so far were refused, with the credit returned.
